Text Box: July 17th, at our monthly Executive Board Meeting, new board positions were elected.
In attendance was Jedd Strange, Albert Gatton, Joe Bender, Jack Miller and Gene Melchers.
The Covid-19 lock-down requirements have severely impacted regular chamber meetings and 2020 elections.  Considering that since our last public meeting, there were no person running for the open position, Joe Bender was reappointed to the Chamber  Board.

Albert Gatton will be assuming the secretarial duties.

There will not be any public meetings until the Covid-19 requirements allow for a safe public meeting.
We would like to congratulate Gene Melchers as our new president of the Rosamond Chamber of Commerce, as well as the other elected officers!

There appeared to be no significant damage to the building.  Although, anything left at the floor level was affected or damaged - which included our treasurers computer.  Carpet smells and will need to be replaced.
Text Box: The Chamber of Commerce  Building had a broken pipe that flooded the building with about 2” of water!  
It appeared that the water may have been running for at least a day, flooding out the entire floor area of the chamber.  Barnett’s Carpet Cleaning was called to the rescue to remove the water Text Box: Our current insurance policy did not cover this type of damage.  We will be assessing the damage and repair costs, and then asking our members and corporate sponsors for donations to restore the chamber building.
It’s been an eventful year of various types of activity—and when it rains, it pours!

Text Box: mates and volunteers to complete all cement work.  Grading, forming, and laying cement should commence shortly.  
The Solar panel system is a more lengthy process due to permit requirements to proceed.  We are currently in the process of acquiring engineering and permits for the solar project.  No ETA of completion at this time due to unknown time-frame of the permit process.
Text Box: The solar system, when completed, will power the entire event center to minimize excessing electrical costs.
No Events are currently planned at the moment due to county and state Covid-19 health requirements.
We hope that by mid-year 2021, the event center will be in full swing.
Text Box: The Rosamond Event Center is under phase two development and consists of sidewalks/rest areas, solar power and decomposed granite (DG) throughout the REC center.
